Digital Content Using Ege Leaves

Reconstructing Ege Manuscript 7

This is an Omeka page written by Sindhu Krishnamurthy, a student of Lisa Fagin Davis’s, who is, as Lisa writes: “… a high school senior, only 17 years old! She is a brilliant Latinist and coder who knew absolutely nothing about medieval manuscripts or paleography until two months ago. She will be matriculating at Columbia in the fall to study engineering, but I hope she will continue to work with manuscripts while she’s there!” You can see her site here.

Reconstructing FOL 47

Lisa Fagen Davis assigns her Library and Information Science students at the Simmons School of Library and Information Science the project of searching to find as many leaves as they are able from one of the manuscripts that Otto F. Ege broke.  They then construct a digital exhibit using Omeka to share their research.  Last year her students worked on FOL (Fifty Original Leaves from Medieval Manuscripts47.  Their work can be seen here.  This year, her students are working on FOL 48.  We look forward to seeing the finished product! (If you have leaves of FOL 47 or FOL 48 that you would like to bring the class’s attention, you can contact them through the FOL 47 website).
